Il-Marhab farmhouse is an authentic early 17th century farmhouse in
Xewkija, the oldest village in Gozo. It is within walking distance to the
picturesque pebbly beach of Mgarr ix-Xini.
You enter through the main stone arched hallway with pattern-tiled floor into
an open sunny courtyard lined with many plants and a brilliant crimson
bougainvillea, which leads to a large double bedroom with ensuite.
The wide stone staircase opens up to a further three double bedrooms (two with
ensuite) on the first floor, a sunny loggia and a huge terrace with views of
the surrounding fields and the Rotunda church in the distance. Il-Marhab
farmhouse can accommodate up to ten persons comfortably.
On the ground floor, further down the same courtyard, there is the fully
equipped kitchen with Venetian gold granite worktops, a carved dining table
with eight chairs, LG frost- free refrigerator, LG automatic washing machine,
Smeg gas cooker and cable TV. The wood-burning fireplace is in the open living
area with sofa. There is also the main bathroom with bidet. Maid service once
weekly.
Outside, is an oval table with chairs on the patio that is ideal for al fresco
dining, next to a beautiful water fountain. The superb private swimming pool
(14 x 8.5m) has a large sundeck area (over 100m), six sundeck chairs, pool
shower, built-in-barbecue and a discreet garden facing due south for maximum
sunshine!
Bicycle/car hire is recommended. Transfer to and from your accommodation
including the ferry/helicopter) can be arranged, regardless of your arrival
time. You will be greeted and transferred straight to Il-Marhab farmhouse.
